Communication and Problem Solving Protocol

Out of consideration for our Principal, Assistant Principals and our Athletic Department, please follow the proper line of communication. Start with your Head Coach. Going over the Head Coach directly to school administration directly may only weaken the parent/coach relationship and is discouraged by the athletic department.

General Requirements To be followed by both athletes and parents

Sideline Behavior

Games are played at the highest level and are exciting to watch. Sometimes, however, intense competition can bring out less desirable emotions over events that take place on the field. It is important for coaches and parents to practice positive sideline behavior. We are representing the FUHS Soccer Program and as adults we are expected to be role models for our young people.

When sharing a sideline with the team, please respect our space and support the team from a distance of at least 15 feet of the team bench area. Please do not stand around the team area to speak with the staff or player's during the game or half time.

The Player Process

Training

Training is a vital part of the players culture and curriculum. Players will participate in team training more than games. These training sessions are the catalyst for a strong team dynamic. Training attendance will most certainly play a role in a player's ability to start and play. Missing training will affect playing time. Please make sure your athlete attends training.

Rosters

In determining rosters, it is at the discretion of the Head Coach and staff. Please understand this Program is about developing and preparing the athletes to the best of their abilities, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Understanding the face of the Program is Varsity Soccer. Player's will be closely evaluated for consideration to make Varsity which is a right earned and not given. Consistently managing academics, athletics, and the ability to compete at the Varsity level in the highly competitive world of high school athletics will determine Varsity consideration.

Movement through playing levels are obtainable when the impact on the field by a player warrants the consideration. Parents are not to interfere with this entire process.

Playing time

Please understand the Coach does not guarantee equal playing time. High School soccer is very competitive. Each player has to earn the right to play. We, as a Program, need to support all the players.
